How do I get people to pay me for doing what I want to do? I want to go out there (to Zambia) and change the world. Yes I am one of those people. I want to serve the world.
At one time I thought I was the only one who thought about certain things/ideas, until I came across TED (http://www.ted.com). And like William from Malawi (Google: william malawi ted), I thought to myself, and where has TED been all this time. Imagine what kids in Zambia who do not yet have access to the Internet are going to say one day when they find out about Google? And when I came across someone who knew about TED, I wondered and I think I asked why he had not told me about it. So one day, some (Zambian) kid is going to ask me why I had not told him or her about Google or the Internet. What am I going to say?
Someone said there is nothing for free and created bills! What would really be exciting right now is if I got paid to do what I want to do – to serve the world. I have so many cool ideas, but you know how it’s like, everyone has a brilliant idea, in fact many ideas.
Some high profile university should take this up, create a PhD program in which I can do what I want to do for a couple of years, be funded for doing what I want to do, and be provided with some guidance (albeit, little) to follow as I carve out innovative ideas and implement these ideas, now that is one PhD I would enroll for. If you want to get me started on why I would like such a PhD program, I will let you watch this video first. There are a few others presenters on TED that will make you start to see why such a program would be good (for me),
I am not shy of implementation, that’s why I am working on what seems like a thousand ideas – http://www.atihow.com. So, until that time comes, when such a PhD is introduced, or some venture capitalist comes across my ideas, or I find one willing to take me on, I will continue to soldier on.
The future has never looked brighter.
